what is the deal with drops!?
Ok, example one.
Im at augery rock, havent been out this way in days.
head out solo and the first thing I come accross is 2 hydras
Kill the first one, get a nice drop, kill the next one, no drop at all!
head over to another group (3) and start killing again. first one drops a white, next one drops nothing, last one drops nothing.
decide that this is rediculous, so I head off to bloodstone fenn.
head out, first thing I run into is 2 trolls.
now its been WELL over a week since I've been out here.
kill the first one, 1 white drop, kill the second NO DROP!!
I mean, am I halucinating, or didnt the patch that fixed this say that only extreme farming methods would see monsters run low on loot?
THIS is extreme?? its rediculous is what it is!
anyone else find this when going solo?

well i find that Baltazhar has shined upon me if i ever get a purple or gold item/rune. Im on almost every day and VERY rarely get anything of value. Infact ive never had anything worth over 10k. Im level 20 and am at ring of fire.
Although agree with guy above, you cant really complain about that. Maybe if you had killed a hundred alone.

Every monster isn't supposed to make a drop, are they? I mean, that's not terribly reasonable.

firstly, yes, all monsters drop something : gold, weapons, focus items, common materials, rare materials, items for collectors.
this is from the update
"...substantially improved the loot system so that only the most extreme forms of farming will cause monsters to start to run low on loot.
"
and to clarify for those who cant read properly, I am talking about getting absolutely nothing out of a creature. I dont mean nothing good. NOTHING AT ALL.

Purple's tend to have more/better stuff on them then blues, but there is a chance to get purples with nothing on them, you can also get pure golds, and pure blues.

ok, this is how it works :
the level of a creature is the determaning facter as to the weapons/focus items attributes, a common item will have attributes from either 1 level less, its own level or one level more. an uncommon item will have attributes from its level or up to 3 levels higher. a rare item has attributes for a level up to 5 higher than the monsters.

But still he is right about the patch. It said that only extreame issues of farming will cause monsters to stop dropping loot and I dont think that many people are doing extream farming in Bloodstone Fen. When I read the update, I figured that when you farmed someplace to much that was when the drops stopped, not when other people were farming. If that is the case then everyone is getting screwed and it is no fun to go solo anymore unless you find a spot that no one really goes to. And then you are gambling time because there is no way of knowing if that place has been farmed to death or not. Personally i dont farm a lot. But for those who like to go solo and get all the loot, this is not a very good update.

I have noticed it around Drokners as well.
I soloed out there and killed a least 9 aventia in a group and wasnt even getting a little amount of gold drop. Farming isnt worth the time put into it.
Need UW/FIS Smites now for the good stuff nobody want's Max damage swords. The only thing thats sells and is worth anything is Eternals and Chaos Weapons and also the Obsidian and Ectoplasm. Everything else is Crap even Superior runes are not woth the parchment they are written on and should be made salvegable.

Smite drops are crap now too. Someone in your party MIGHT be lucky to get a Storm/Eternal bow every 4 runs or so.
There is almost nothing left to play this game for except maybe the 2 new RP zones coming up in a few weeks. And then they'll most likely be nothing but "cosmetic" just like everything else in this game since they'll suffer from the same craptacular drop rate .

Not being able to farm is a pretty poor excuse to leave PvE, IMO.

It is not "farm"
When you play day in and day out and get the same subpar weapons over and over.. hey, you get sick and tired and ****ed

The drops are there, they're just harder to get. As someone said in another post (Don't Take It Out on Honest Players), maybe less frequent uber-drops will make them more appreciated. IMHO the drops have been too good and too easy to get. This way a rare truly -is- a rare and not just another-neato-thing-I-found-and-will-sell-for-an-outrageous-price.
The prices for uber rares and uniques will go through the roof with their increasing scarcity. That should please those who want all the gold in the world. I, for one anyhow, would be MUCH more willing to pay through the nose for something that I knew for a fact was ULTRA rare.

I think the word farming can be misenterpreted as to what farming stands for. I have completed all the PVE side of the game. All thats left for me to do without starting over again with a new char is to go hunting a super rare drop. Hoping that I will get the ultimate drop. Is this classed as farming. To me Farming is hitting the same spot 100's of times to collect gold and drops.
If drops have been reduced to eliminate farming then I am suffering because of it. I dont even go out trying to find these drops anymore and to be honest have gone from playing the game 100 hours a week to about 10 hours a week and thats dropping now. The game has no longevity in its end game for PVE players.
If the drops were there and it was worth hunting drops I would have set myself a target of 2Million Plat to go for but its not worth putting in the other 90 hours a week to get nothing.
I have purchased Battlefield 2 now and unfourtunatly have now drifted away from Guild Wars and thats the sad part because of the changes that have been made they have killed off the PVE side of Guild War's and forced me away, and untill the Free Content comes out and the purchasable update next year I have to play else where for my buzz now.
If the new free area turns out as easy as all the other areas in the game (Excluding Underworld/ Fiss) then I dont think I will be purchasing the update for PVE play
